If you've searched for a Middle Eastern dating app, you probably want someone who gets where you come from, down to the Arabic you switch into without thinking. HeyArab is made for Arab singles in the US and Canada.

Middle Eastern singles, one app

"Middle Eastern" covers a lot of people. A Lebanese guy in Dearborn, an Iraqi woman in Toronto, a Moroccan student in Montreal, a Palestinian family in Chicago. You don't all share a dialect, but family matters to all of you, and somebody's aunt always wants to know who you're talking to.

On the big apps you're one profile among millions. On HeyArab everyone has roots in the Arab world, so you don't spend the first date explaining the basics.

What's different on HeyArab

Your profile shows your country of origin and the languages you speak. Religion is optional, so you can show it or leave it off.

You also say what you're looking for: marriage, something long term, either, or friends. The person you match with sees it before you talk. Same with family. You can say your family is involved early, or that you keep things private until it's serious.

There's a 30 second voice intro, so people hear how you actually talk, accent and all. Friends and cousins can vouch for you with a few lines.

Privacy matters in small communities

Arab communities are small, and everyone knows everyone. HeyArab lets you block your phone contacts so your cousin never sees your profile. Selfie verification means the person you match with is who they say they are.

Other Middle Eastern dating apps

A few other apps use the same words, and they're built for different people. Here's what their own App Store listings said in October 2026.

  • Baklava is for Arabs living outside the Arab world, looking for dates, friends or something serious. It's the closest to HeyArab, and it's been around longer.
  • ArabLounge, from World Singles, is aimed at singles in the Arab world, from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to Lebanon and Egypt. Its paid plan started at about $30 a month.
  • Ana W Enta calls itself a Middle Eastern dating app and lets you filter by religion and country of origin. It's still small.
  • Muzz and Salams are for Muslims, and most people on them want to marry.

If you live in the US or Canada, the question that matters most is who's near you. An app with a big pool in Riyadh won't help much in Houston.

Find your own community

Some people want someone from the same country, and some are happy with anyone Arab. If you want to read about one community, start with Lebanese singles, Syrian singles, Palestinian singles, Egyptian singles or Moroccan singles.

If you're wondering whether HeyArab is a marriage app, it isn't. Here's how it works instead. To see how it stacks up against other apps, read our guide to the best Arab dating apps.
